Yes! Should an unfortunate event occur resulting in damage to any part of your property on Legacy Painting's behalf, our insurance policy will provide compensation for any claim amount up to 1 million dollars.
House painting is custom work, so it’s difficult to estimate cost prior to viewing the space and discussing your objectives. Are there significant holes and cracks in need of repair? What is the condition of the ceiling and trim? Are there windows, built-in cabinets, radiators and closets to paint or paint around? Is lead paint a factor? Will the new color be significantly darker or lighter than the existing color? Is your goal to freshen or thoroughly restore the space? Knowing answers to such questions does make a rough estimate possible by phone, but nothing takes the place of meeting with an estimator – free of charge.
The average exterior job takes 1 week and the average interior job takes 2-3 days. Exterior job length may vary depending on overall project size and weather cooperation.
Are you freshening a couple of bedrooms or are you redesigning the entire interior of your home? Project length can be given a rough estimate based on the size of the project but exact estimates will require a thorough in-person tour.
Yes, all our employees must speak English, must be professional full-time painters, and all are employees of Legacy Painting, not subcontractors or casual laborers.
There are a variety of factors that will effect the life of your paint coatings, but a standard exterior paint job typically lasts 5-7 years while an interior paint job lasts 10 years or more.
All of our work is warrantied but we also offer extended warranties that incorporate only top-shelf products that have been field-proven to provide double the life expectancies of standard paint coatings.
Time has taught us that products by Benjamin Moore, California Paints, and Mad Dog Primers consistently provide the most impressive results. High performance paints are just as important as an experienced painter. We refuse to endorse products that use low quality resins, coarse additives, and harsh solvents.
Requests for an alternate brand of paint will be considered at our discretion, but the use of cheap paints sold at big-box stores will not qualify for our warranty.
Not always. Situations that absolutely require primer are painting over bare wood and new plaster, applying latex based paint on top of an oil based paint, or when trying to hide stains caused by water damage, inks, and smoke.
Using a clean rag, rub a small amount of denatured alcohol onto the wall in an inconspicuous area. If the paint softens or becomes dull, the paint is latex based. If the paint seems to suffer no changes in appearance, it is an alkyd based paint. The majority of walls will be covered with a latex based paint; doors and trim are the most common areas to find oil based paints.
Absolutely! Sometimes creating a new look to your home can be intimidating. Having been exposed to such a variety of interior designs and color palettes grants us the ability to aid in selecting colors to suit your unique taste or keep up with the latest trends.
Latex based paints are dry to the touch in 1-3 hours depending on temperature and humidity levels. However, paint is not fully cured until 24-36 hours after application. We do not recommend hanging wall fixtures or attempting to clean newly painted surfaces until a full cure-time has elapsed.
If we suspect lead coated surfaces during the initial inspection or after work has commenced, progress will be halted until you have been informed of our findings. Lead based paints are common in homes that were built before 1978, but with our extensive knowledge and Lead-Safe Certifications you can rest assured that you and your family will remain safe throughout the course of work. Once lead paint has been found or is suspected, all effected areas will be quarantined and only equipment that is NIOSH approved and utilizes HEPA filtration will be used. After work has finished, the site will be thoroughly cleaned and double-inspected before allowing you and your family to return to the space.
