Amidst a re-siding project to replace rotted clapboards, Legacy Painting's exterior painting services were recruited for this beautiful Danvers colonial. New clapboards were installed "rough side out" to give a heavily textured wooden appearance, which has the benefit of providing very stable paint adhesion. The downside to this is that when it eventually comes time to scrape loosening paint, preserving the texture of the clapboard makes preparation a very lengthy process. To maximize the lifespan of the new coating to its fullest potential, Duraprime by Mad Dog Primer was used. This glue-like coating remains sticky to the touch, even when dry, and provides the strongest topcoat bond of any primer on the market. Combined with a flexible and breathable solid-stain topcoat by Storm System, we expect a very long life for this paint job along with an easy prep-phase before future repaints.
